Physical Therapy
Here’s how to start your therapy journey and prepare for your first appointment.
Getting Started with Capernum PT Is Easy
We treat all general aches and pains! If you went to your doctor and they recommended PT, we most likely treat your diagnosis or will help you find a PT who does if we do not.
We acknowledge that you may be anxious about your first physical therapy visit. But with Capernum PT, you’ll feel right at home as soon as you walk into one of our facilities. In addition to helping you with your rehabilitation, our welcoming front desk staff is available to address any inquiries you may have regarding billing, scheduling, insurance, or other matters.
When Am I Supposed to Arrive?
To finish the required paperwork, please arrive at your Capernum PT clinic fifteen minutes ahead of time on the day of your appointment. Fill out the forms in advance to speed up the process, and we’ll get you started even sooner.
What Should I Pack and Wear?
When attending appointments, dress comfortably—for example, in sportswear—and stay away from jewelry.
For your appointment, kindly bring the following items:
- Prescription or doctor’s referral
- Photo identification (valid driver’s license, state ID, school ID card, or passport)
- Card for insurance
What Can I Expect During My First Visit?
A licensed physical therapist will conduct a thorough evaluation and provide pertinent treatment during your initial appointment, which should take approximately one hour. Your physical therapist will go over your diagnostic results, medical history, and any recent events that may have contributed to your condition during this visit. Your current functional deficits, pain threshold, posture, and flexibility, strength, balance, and endurance will all be evaluated.
After the evaluation, you will receive a commitment letter from your physical therapist along with an explanation of your individual treatment plan and expectations for recovery. At Capernum PT, you will play an active role in your own recovery. Your relationship with your therapist is also vital.
